10 (or more on the way) Ultra-quick & easy ways you can help
  -
we'll show you how a little bit goes a long way!

Cheap (or almost broke) but still want to help:

  1. Sign up for e-newsletters instead of mail - you'll get e-announcements for newsletters & events and we save $$ on postage.
  2. Share the Web site info. with anyone you know who lives in Mesa County - they may become a valuable contributor through you.  www.gjcommunitycatcare.org  (copy & paste into your e-mails!)
  3. Volunteer your time: it can be as little as an hour a month and there's enough variety that something is sure to tweak your interest.  Click here.
  4. Share a talent that can be used for a fundraiser - crafts, food, entertainment, etc..., or share a skill as a volunteer - PR, bookkeeping, data entry, catching cats....etc...
  5. Got change?  As little as 50 cents will buy you a catnip mouse for your feline friend. (shopping cart coming soon - look for it toward the end of June)
  6. Special Occasion?  Think of us when you need a gift for a pet, anyone you know who has a pet, or any pet you know - when you buy that gift online, CCC earns a portion of those proceeds.
  7. Spay or Neuter your own pets and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.  For help, call Planned Pethood, CCC, or call the vets listed on the Thank You  page.
  8. Come to our events and bring your friends and family...your support means everything.
  9. If you or someone you know has a Web site, link up! Add us as a local feature in some way. Copy & Paste into your site! www.gjcommunitycatcare.org
  10. Put out a donation box at your work (or play).  Every little bit helps prevent another litter, another illness, another unnecessary death.  List CCC as the donation recipient for your City Market Value Card and every time your card is used, a small percentage benefits spaying/neutering in Mesa County.

Concerned, but can do only a little bit extra:

  1. Consider a one-time (or more?) donation of $100 in the memory of a pet and sharing the story with us on the Web site.

  2. Schedule a monthly donation in any amount - $5.00?  $10.00?  $25.00 or go nuts and tithe 10% (hey, it counts!) in a recurring billing.  Not only do these funds help neuter and spay projects, but they also help feed managed cat colonies.  In order to be in the feral cat program, the feral cat must be neutered or spayed and returned to someone who is actually feeding them!  This can be very expensive, and your help is very much appreciated.

  3. Organize a presentation on pet care (we can help) for school children in our local schools.  Children who learn how to handle pets can become responsible and loving pet owners.

  4. Note feral cat populations in your neighborhood.  The best time to stop the breeding cycle was years ago, and the next best time is now.  If you schedule a neighborhood meeting, we can help you plan a block party neutering/spaying event.

  5. Adopt a feral kitten (we have sources!) and take care of the neutering/spaying at the right time, and have a lifetime of love and companionship.

  6. Offer to pay for the neutering/spaying for neighbors' pets as birthday, Easter, Christmas, etc. gifts and stop the cycle before it starts.  Hey, your neighbors may not deserve it, but you and the cats do.

  7. Buy as much of your pet supplies & gifts as possible, short of food, online through our site and have it delivered to your doorstep.  Encourage everyone you know to shop through our site whenever possible.

  8. Sponsor an event - it could be a benefit dinner, a sponsored walk/bike/runathon, music in your backyard, art sale, garage sale, or anything else you can think of and collect proceeds for the CCC cause.

  9. Help feed and provide shelter for a feral cat colony.  We can supply one or you can create your own colony of feral cats in your own neighborhood.  If you're not sure you have feral cats, put out food and see who shows up after dark.  (Okay, you have to be a little brave.)

  10. Think really big and come up with a vision that can create the first completely managed feral cat community in the US.  Others are attempting it, but we could be the first!  Then be the leader of your vision and see where we can help.

OKAY, I've got money to burn & I'm looking for a cause (and ideas that make you feel like a million bucks):

  1. See #10, above, and fund it.

  2. See #8, above, but do it on a really big scale.

  3. If you are in the selling business, advertise that 10% (or more) of your proceeds go to fund our CCC projects and really donate the 10%.

  4. Start a website affiliate program (you create the site to sell other folks' products and they agree to get your customer their stuff and pay you a commission) and donate some or all of the proceeds to CCC.

  5. Donate a portion of products, services, or anything else you can think of that can be sold in a monthly silent auction, one of our yard sales, or at one of our events.

  6. Call Partners and any other community group as a leader and A.) teach responsibility by hosting and learning about managed feral cat communities, B.) offer community/neighborhood services and donate proceeds to CCC or C.) Find some other community group (church, school, clubs, etc.) to lead in service for donations.  This can be neighborhood handyman/clean-up, area car washes, benefit breakfast in the park - you name it.  You might have to pay the group, but you were looking to spend $ anyway and it's a win/win/win situation.  CCC wins because they have operating funds, the group wins because they have accomplished something with a great leader, and you win because you got to be the great leader and you needed to get rid of that money, anyway.  Besides, you can deduct everything as a charitable contribution and joking aside, we really do need and appreciate it.

  7. Help a neighborhood in need -  yours or otherwise.  Perhaps you could temporarily supply an enclosed area for recuperating spayed/neutered ferals in a colony until they can all be treated and released.  Ferals that go through the process are ear-tipped for identification and getting them all is crucial.

  8. Advertise.  If you send out newsletters, advertise CCC's Web site and events  - or buy advertising in our newsletter.  Let everyone know your vision of clean communities with healthy populations of animals and citizens.  Be the "go to" person for your neighborhood and community for answers in humanely managing the once domestic (at some point) animals and their offspring that were turned away.  A feral cat colony that ceases to exist because of lack of reproduction represents a healthy, happy population to be well remembered!

  9. This is where you think of your own way to contribute - and any effort will be well appreciated.

  10. Honestly, if you pick something from the ideas listed on this page, kudos to you.  Big or small, a little or alot, it is all worth the effort.  As mentioned in a recent TV ad, don't "almost" volunteer or donate.  It's better to follow through on a small thing than to think really big and just think really big.
