Greetings!  If you check our Web site, you can tell we’ve been extremely busy this year.  YTD, we have spayed & neutered 402 cats in Mesa County.  Although we are under last years average, the year’s not over with yet!

We’ve had wonderful volunteer turnouts to make every fundraiser event successful.  Volunteers are often time-challenged and have other obligations, but the volunteers for CCC are finding time in their busy schedules to participate in fundraising activities.

Each volunteer is as precious and unique as the caretakers and cats that we care for.  The perfect blend of personalities, abilities and ideas have given CCC many opportunities to be present in community activities.  We also are having a lot of fun!

Mesa County should consider itself a very fortunate county to have CCC as a humane option for helping feral cats.  Unfortunately, there are many counties who are not so lucky and continue the old ideal that euthanasia is still the best method for population control.

All it takes is the commitment of one or two who understand the concept of TNR.  Spaying and neutering is not rocket science. TNR is simple and there are so many resources for information on how to get started.

Thank you to Mesa County residents for embracing  CCC’s TNR program and supporting its mission.

If you find yourself with a feral cat and are willing to provide it with the minimum of food, water and shelter, then CCC will be happy to help you.

We will loan you a trap, arrange an appointment for spay/neuter, vaccinate and return the cat to you.  The cat will be able to live out its life where it chooses to belong -outside.  The cat will also be ear-tipped in order to identify it as being spayed/neutered.

If you find yourself with feral cats in your area, and they are truly feral (not your neighbor’s cat) and you are willing to feed them—we can help. Unfortunately, we field numerous phone calls every month from people asking for help with ridding themselves of their neighbor’s cat.  We are able to offer advice to the community and problem solve, but we are not pest control.  So many times the solution is simple, and there are many other organizations that are able to help, as well.

We are currently involved in collecting silent auction items for the Fur Bal on November 8th.  It is coming together nicely and should be a lovely event.  Get your tickets at any City Market in Grand Junction and the Atlas Conoco station at 1st & Orchard.

Please visit our Web site often for updated times, places and events.  We have a number of terrific events lined up for you!

Thank you to everyone for your hard work and support of CCC.
