GJ Community Cat Care

Welcome!

  • TNR is the most effective method of controlling feral cat populations.
  • TNR helps prevent the spread of feline related disease.  The cats are vaccinated against rabies and distemper.
  • TNR helps to stop roaming in male cats.
  • TNR can stop "Tom Cat" behavior in males, particularly spraying, fighting and yowling.
  • TNR develops a sense of community pride and accomplishment toward a goal.
  • A managed (sterilized) colony can demonstrate that compassion for cats teaches non-violence and tolerance for others.

Feral cats are not wildlife and they are not pets.

They are the wild offspring of stray or abandoned domestic cats who revert to a wild state.

They are always the result of pet owners who fail to spay or neuter their animals.  It is estimated that there are over 60 million ferat cats in the U.S.

CCC is concentrating its efforts to end suffering through the TNR program.  For lost pets, or animal rescue, we hope we can help by suggesting the resources on the Links & Resources page.

Building Bridges Dollar Drive
Community Cat Care and Roice Hurst Humane Society!

S
ome folks think a dollar does little, but consider this:  There are over 160,000 people in our valley.  If less than 8% agreed to part with only 4 quarters a month, AND YOU WERE ONE OF THEM, through CCC your impact on the feral cat populations in our neighborhoods and community would be massive.

Add only 4 more quarters, and you have effectively built a bridge of service between two forces that when combined, provide a huge community service to its human and animal populations through prevention, quality care, adoptions, education, and mentoring.

Won’t you be one of our bridge-builders?  For only $1 a month, your contribution goes to CCC’S Trap, Neuter, Return program in our community.  If you add one more dollar, the 2nd dollar goes to the Roice-Hurst Humane Society’s valuable community services in our valley.  Simply go to the CCC Products & Donations link or send your check to Community Cat Care, PO Box 4555, Grand Junction, CO 81502, made out to Community Cat Care.  (If you would like to be on a monthly recurring billing, please scroll down to the Paypal buttons on our original site - we haven't gotten everything changed over yet.

Many people have an occasional urge to participate or volunteer in their community, but find themselves without the time to commit.  Through your roll as a Bridge-Builder, you will have done more with a dollar or two than you can imagine.  Financial resources are the only thing that can hold back those who do have the time and ability.  Through your participation, you are building a liaison between resources and results - only through you are those with the time and ability able to function.  So, you see, you are the legs – we are the arms.  Together we are the bridge to healthy and controlled animal populations.

Please follow that urge, but be kind to your time, and your wallet, and participate with your monthly donation of only a dollar or two.  Thank you for coming on board!
